Updates to Academic Year 2020-2021 Grading Policy for CoE Graduate Students

Dear Graduate Students,

In recognition of how current events continue to impact our graduate students, the College of Engineering is implementing the recently announced Rackham Graduate School grading policy changes to our grading policy for Academic Year 2020-2021 (Fall, Winter, & Spring/Summer terms). These changes will apply to all CoE graduate students enrolled in Rackham (MS, MSE, PhD) and non-Rackham (MEng, DEng) graduate degree programs.

We strongly encourage you to consult with your graduate program if you have any questions about the pros and cons of utilizing aspects of this revised grading policy for Academic Year 2020-2021.

Also, please know that other resources are available to you should you need assistance, such as the Michigan Engineering C.A.R.E. Center, CoE’s resources for students, and Rackham’s resources for graduate students. We highly recommend that you continue to monitor updates via the University and the College of Engineering’s COVID-19 Resource Page. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or my office with any questions you may have.

I remain incredibly proud of your adaptability and commitment to your graduate studies during these challenging times.

Stay well,
Mary-Ann Mycek
Associate Dean for Graduate & Professional Education
