Accessing the Fund
We know that the unprecedented pace of changes and decision-making at this time is stressful. Beyond safety and health concerns, we understand that the current situation may also place undue financial stress on our students.
The College of Engineering has limited emergency funding available for students for whom the College’s other forms of assistance are not an option, or sufficient to meet their needs. If you are in need of assistance, please complete the Emergency Funding Request Form.
Please note that this funding is subject to federal and institutional regulations, so we may need to follow up with you for additional information or steps and all funds will need to be routed through your student account. If you do not demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA or after these steps, or your current aid does not allow for additional funding without negative impact, we will be unable to provide emergency aid.
Again, we know that the uncertainty and stress of the current moment is difficult and want to support you in any way we can. If you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at: email@example.com.
Donating to the Fund
If you or someone you know would like to contribute to the emergency fund, please use the Engineering Student Emergency Fund donation portal. This expendable fund supports the emergency needs related to the health, safety and well-being of our Engineering students, especially during the current coronavirus pandemic.
Your gift may provide you with federal and state income tax benefits. Your state may also allow a credit or deduction. The University of Michigan has 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax exempt status; our federal tax ID number is 38-6006309.
