ENGIN UPDATE: Paid release time to get vaccinated. Webinar tutorial.

The College of Engineering’s weekly update aims to provide transparent and frequent information about how the College is operating, caring for its community and planning for the future.

The campus community is experiencing a significant increase in COVID-19 cases. This trend is occurring as Washtenaw County case counts are increasing. U-M students represent about 16 percent of the cases in the county.

Please remain steadfast in following all pandemic protocols and participate in the free campus saliva testing program if you are coming to campus. If you feel sick, please stay home.

NEW PAID RELEASE TIME TO GET VACCINATED

Please take advantage of the up-to-two hours of paid release time per vaccine dose to go get vaccinated during working hours.

We encourage everyone to seek vaccination appointments from all sources. Michigan Medicine has posted tools to help find vaccines in your area. University Human Resources has created a COVID-19 vaccine eligibility and availability page with resources to help everyone get an appointment through a clinic, pharmacy, health department or Michigan Medicine. The Campus Maize and Blueprint’s vaccine site has information, as well.

CONCERNS ABOUT MISUSE OF COURSE MATERIALS

Learning-based sites such as Course Hero and Chegg have grown in use over the past 15 years. They do not tolerate the misuse of course materials, although in some instances students have violated the site’s policies about materials use or university honor codes. Read this Nexus Faculty Resources Blog post to learn more about identifying and responding to the misuse of course content, along with prevention techniques.
