Checking in – how is it going?

Dear CoE Students,

As we’ve been in this new steady state for awhile, we are writing to see how things are going. We understand the COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone in various ways. Social distancing, remote research or learning and changes to summer plans are affecting each of you. As always, please know we are here to help.

Please fill out this short survey, so we can understand your experiences and address any issues.

Please reach out if you need help, have a suggestion or question, or even to say hello. Various faculty and staff are holding individual office hours. See here for the most up to date schedule and instructions.

As you complete the term, please keep these tips in mind:

  • Stay organized: Take the time to put together the schedule and understand the expectations for each of your classes. Make smart decisions about how to best spend your time, and give yourself plenty of time for important assignments and tests. Don’t wait until the last second, just in case you encounter technical issues.

  • Take care of yourself: Stay healthy by getting adequate rest, nutrition and exercise. Keep a growth mindset as you adapt to new circumstances. Your success has as much to do with your effort as it has to do with your ability.

  • Manage your environment: Schedule specific times in your day to dedicate to studying or participating in your online class, and find a space that is comfortable and allows you to focus.

  • Stay engaged: Communicate regularly with your instructors and classmates, and don’t forget to call, text and message friends and family.

We are proud of our community, and the resiliency and initiative everyone has shown. We hope that you are managing your studies well, and you and your family are safe and healthy.

Stay well, stay strong.
